Any advice would be appreciated
I have been out of work since the middle of November 2009. I realize this is not a long time compared to a lot of people. I was in a very positive frame of mind for the first couple of months, but lately I am feeling more and more negative. I try to keep busy, exercising every day, and I am also spending a time every day taking some Microsoft Office courses at home to brush up on my skills. I am doing the best I can to keep up a positive attitude, but it is getting harder and harder. Any advice would be appreciated.

Keep on doing what you are doing -- even though it's hard. If you have read The Job Loss Survival Guide on JoblossGuide.com, you know that what you are going through is very similar to what most people who lose their jobs go through. Try following some of the other suggestions in the survival guide.
ReplyDeleteLook into support organizations on the Web. One I know of is http://www.cclive.org/network based in Knoxville, TN. It's a Cokesbury United Methodist (Knoxville) organization.
You might check out www.skillsniper.com. I learned about the site through a job club I am involved in. It is kind of neat in the sense that I was able to choose my actual skills and a Microsoft certification I have and it didn't cost anything. Already had a couple employers view my skills, but no hire yet at this point.
ReplyDeleteHi Guys,
ReplyDeleteI'm a student at Baruch College in NYC and I'm doing research on the experience of joblessness on professionals during this economy.
If you could please take my survey it would help me out a lot.
